Texas is undergoing one of the most significant shifts in American finance. It now boasts more financial services professionals than New York, with Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Scotiabank all funnelling thousands of jobs into Dallas, and Tesla, Coinbase, and Exxon reincorporating in the state.
At the heart of this is the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), set to begin trading July 2026, on a mission to disrupt the NYSE and NASDAQ duopoly. The context is striking: despite a 700% rally in the S&P 500, the number of public companies has fallen by 40% since 1996. The TXSE wants to fix that, and become the exchange of America’s greatest growth engine.
