Defence – Increasing investment from Governments and Private Investment23rd January 2025

There are currently 110 armed conflicts ongoing around the world.  Aside from armed conflicts, there is increasing awareness that conflict is very actively being fought online.  Just a few weeks ago Pat McFadden announced the UK government will be giving £8m of funding to a new AI security research laboratory and this is just another example of private and public investment going into this space. The European Defence Public spending has increased by €50bn in the last year alone and NATO recently launched its own new Technology Innovation Fund.

Will McManners’ MD One Fund launched in 2022 and has 12 investments to date.  The unique team has 20 years’ experience in venture, technology, defence/military and finance and has invested in European dual-use technologies with applications in both defence and civilian sectors.  Fund 2 is launching in January 2025 with the majority of Fund 1 investors following into this fund too.  Ocean Wall will be hosting a group lunch giving investors an opportunity to meet the MD One team.
