Founder and CEO

Nick Lawson spent 17 years at Deutsche Bank in London, where as Managing Director he built the No.1 rated Special Situations and Merger Arbitrage desk. He later became Global Head of Macro and Synthetic Equity, overseeing complex equity strategies across international markets.

In 2015, Nick joined Arrowgrass Capital Partners LLP as Partner and Head of Strategic Capital Solutions, where he cultivated deep relationships with leading global asset allocators and gained access to some of the most attractive investment opportunities worldwide.

Backed by four cornerstone investors, Nick founded Ocean Wall in 2019 to leverage over 25 years of experience in managing sophisticated equity businesses and uncovering alpha in under appreciated markets.

Nick serves as an adviser to the UK Government on its nuclear programme and equity market liquidity. He previously chaired the Cabinet Office Community Lending Steering Group under Prime Minister David Cameron, and in 2023 appeared before the UK Business Select Committee to give evidence on the Decarbonisation of Power White Paper. Over the past two years, he has advised HM Treasury and No.10 Downing Street on market-related policy matters.

He is Investor Director and interim Chair of Chorus Intelligence, a leading data analytics company supporting law enforcement and counter-terrorism efforts. Nick also served as interim Chair of Deutsche Bank Investment Partners until its spin-out in 2025 to form DB Investment Partners, where he remains a Senior Adviser.
Beyond finance, Nick has a strong philanthropic and entrepreneurial focus. He founded and continues to chair the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust (ALMT), a UK-based charity established in 2006 that has supported over 320 projects globally. He also sits on the Harrow School Development Trust, chairs NAIA Beachwear, and holds a 5.5% stake in All Things Considered Group Plc, the UK-listed music and entertainment company.
